Funky Surfboards Classic Tee

“Cute board,” I heard as I headed down to the beach. There was just enough tone in it to know he wasn’t entirely complimenting my eight-foot pink board. I smiled and kept walking.

Her name was Coco. Truth is, I hadn’t wanted the pink surfboard, I wanted the pretty turquoise one, but it was sold out. And if I’m being completely honest, I was a little embarrassed to be paddling out on a big pink board. But I’d already tried going shorter and spent more time struggling than surfing. I didn’t need a cooler board. I needed one that would help me catch waves, build confidence and actually get better. Coco did exactly that. I progressed so much on that board. Eventually I didn’t care that she was pink, or whether anyone thought she was “cute.” She was the board I needed at exactly the right time.

When I was ready to move on, I sold Coco to my neighbor. She built her confidence, and progressed too. Turns out the right board isn’t always the one you pictured yourself carrying down the beach, It’s the one that makes you want to paddle back out!
